The X-Factor In Network Marketing

By Greg Jackson on April 27, 2015

I’ve always felt that achieving network marketing greatness involved a special skill or trait that’s uncommon. You could call it an X-factor, because it goes beyond the average level of accomplishment.

When I think of people with the X-factor, I usually go to the world of sports, singling out individuals such as Muhammad Ali…I actually met him a year or two, before he became world champion for the second time.

Then there’s Michael Jordan, whom the younger generation actually got to witness. But today, I’m not going to filter through a list of people; this article is about a horse.

My earliest memories of media news coverage were events like the ending of the Vietnam War and Richard Nixon leaving the White House, but the earliest recollection of greatness for a 7 year-old was a horse named Secretariat.

An X-factor is something that can’t be explained, or accomplishing something beyond the ordinary. I would be hard pressed to think of a better example than Secretariat’s 1973 Triple Crown performance.

Kentucky Derby race, as portrayed in Disney’s movie, Secretariat:

Secretariat And The 1973 Triple Crown

As of current, he holds the time records for all 3 Triple Crown Races:

Kentucky Derby – 1:59 2/5 minutes
Preakness Stakes – 1:53 minutes
Belmont Stakes – 2:24 minutes (the fastest mile and a half time ever run on a dirt track by a horse)

In the Kentucky Derby, Secretariat was pretty close to being in last place at the 1/4 mile mark, but had to come from behind to beat a horse (Sham) that, some experts say, ran the second fastest time in Kentucky Derby history.

Secretariat’s greatest feat, in my opinion, is running each quarter of the race faster than the preceding one. This is what sets him apart from any other sports runner in the animal world, including man.

I can’t find any other race where that’s been done.

Achieving Network Marketing Greatness

Now, you may not be drawing any parallels between Secretariat and building a network marketing business. The point I’m trying to make is, you have greatness in you, but it’s very elusive.

Becoming great at anything requires some sacrifices and doing things that we may not want, or feel, like doing.

It’s not impossible for anyone, that’s willing to do the work, to achieve network marketing greatness. You might even have to overcome some hardship, challenge or personal issues.

Whatever it takes to get what you want, please find a way to dig deep inside yourself to go beyond your circumstances.

Perhaps, Eric Worre gets to the heart of the matter in the video below. He has a systematic approach to network marketing – Go Pro: 7 Steps to Becoming a Network Marketing Professional.

You may not know how you’ll get it done, but don’t stop until you do. Keep pushing until your X-factor is revealed.

Wishing you the best,

Greg Jackson

Are You In The Right MLM Business Opportunity?

By Greg Jackson on July 13, 2014

Are you in the right MLM business opportunity? Your ability to communicate the right message to network marketing professionals is the key.

I’ll admit upfront that I have more questions than answers surrounding this topic. This isn’t about me giving you the answers, but more about getting you to think about ways to get across the vision you found when joined your network marketing company.

I feel that it’s important to have an online home base with which to start building whatever business opportunity you’re in. This is the starting gate from where you propel off the launching pad.

The most effective online home base would be a website; a blog to be very specific.

How Do I Blog About My MLM Business Opportunity?

One of the most confusing part about building a network marketing blog is determining what type of content to have. I thought of a couple of different ways to address this issue.

The premise from which to build your blog should be based on having a value driven message. It means, you shouldn’t be promoting or selling your primary MLM business opportunity, simply because that is better saved as something you promote on the backend.

Try to think of ways to either instruct or educate your readers. The goal is to connect your message to your business opportunity.

It’s okay to have your primary MLM business opportunity as part of one of your main pages, but it’s the content in your blog post that’s going to bring readers to your website or blog.

Topics That Address Your MLM Business Opportunity

The following information should only be used as a guideline in determining the type of content that you’ll be using to build your blog:

  1. Inform your readers, using generic information, about the conditions or problems in which your business opportunity can lend itself as the solution.
  2. Write about the the benefits that can be obtained from using the generic version, if possible, without mentioning the actual brand name that is sold by your business opportunity.
  3. Whenever possible, look for affiliate programs that have products that can be used as accessories that are closely related to your MLM business opportunity.
  4. Educate potential recruits about how to succeed at network marketing.
  5. Educate potential customers about what your business opportunity’s products and services can provide for them.

These are just a few ideas about crafting your message around your MLM business opportunity. If you have any additional ideas, feel free to leave your comments.

Wishing You the Best,

Greg Jackson

MLM Guide To Increase Online Sales

By Greg Jackson on July 7, 2014

To increase online sales with your network marketing business, you will need to go down many avenues to communicate to potential MLM prospects.

Targeted Keyword Research To Increase Online Sales

Having the correct keywords can get you going down the right track to bringing you more customers.

Using targeted keywords, specifically drawn to bring in search engine traffic from your niche market, will go a long ways to increase online sales.

As a general rule, you want to carefully choose words that advertisers are paying higher cost per click (CPC) rates. Just make sure the those keywords don’t have such high amounts of competition that would make it difficult to get higher rankings.

With that end in mind, there are a couple of tools that will be useful in finding those targeted keywords. They are the Google Keyword Planner and Long Tail Pro.

Using Copywriting To Increase Online Sales

I have a certain love/hate relationship with writing in general. I don’t always like doing it, but I’ve come to realize that it is one of the most necessary aspects of having an online network marketing business.

What exactly is copywriting? Is basically using the written word to inform and persuade.

The word “selling” has a dirty connotation in the network marketing industry. In my experience, there is no way around it.

The whole “it’s telling, not selling” mantra has become overused in the MLM industry. Selling is simply the art of persuading someone to take action, or see things in a different way.

I’ve never met, or heard of, a top earner that isn’t somewhat proficient in the art of persuasion. If it’s your intention to increase online sales, then I would suggest that you learn to integrate selling into your copywriting. An amazing business model that you also want to combine with selling is affiliate marketing.

I’m not saying that you need to become a hyped up salesperson, but be sure that the topic that you’re writing about is informative and has a call to action for your readers.

There’s no way around the price that must be paid in becoming proficient with copywriting…that price is to do a lot of writing. Don’t wait for the feeling of doing it right; just do it!

It’s also important to put apply those copywriting muscles to your email marketing too.

Social Media To Increase Online Sales

If you’re not on social media sites, then you’re leaking air out of your marketing. Even if you don’t have followers on those sites, that holds true.

At the very minimum, I would suggest that you have a Twitter and Facebook account. Some of the types of updates you could make on these social sites are blog posts, videos, product recommendations, and links from authority specialists.

The reasoning for social media is to expand your reach beyond the search engines, although some of your social media updates will also appear and sometimes have a high rank in the search engines too.

Wishing You The Best,

Greg Jackson

MLM Guide To Choosing Direct Sales Companies

By Greg Jackson on July 1, 2014

If you wish to join any number of MLM or direct sales companies, do your research. Network marketing offers many rewards, if you find the right fit.

Getting into direct sales, whether it’s a network marketing company or another business model, can be very profitable for you.

Before we get carried away with having to tote that big money bag to the bank (or dreaming about it), you should take into consideration, the company’s pros and cons. I call it the 2 Cs complex: competition and compensation.

Competition Among Direct Sales Companies

This is one of the most overlooked aspects of someone joining a company. I’ll paint you a true scenario:

I once had a sponsor that recruited me for a particular network marketing company. I was excited about it, and I liked the product line. Within one month of joining this company, she approached me about another company that had similar products (she thought the products were better). She stopped calling me, once I decided to stick with the original company.

The key lesson is to make sure you check for competing direct sales companies before making a decision to join. The reasons why someone might want to jump ship can vary from person to person. Doesn’t matter!

The cost of switching from one company to another is usually expensive, because the initial startup costs are generally higher than the monthly cost of staying in. Choose your niche company wisely!

Compensation Plans Are Why Many Of Us Get Excited About Direct Sales Companies

I only have one question to ask you concerning the compensation plan of your company:

If your recruits couldn’t get anyone else to join, how many minimum recruits would you have to get and maintain, to replace the money you make at your job?

The reason I bring this question up is because, almost no one involved with direct sales companies can answer that. Well…they can, but it takes a little work. You have to figure out things like:

  • The initial minimum commission you make from each recruit.
  • The minimum commission of that recruit making purchases on a monthly basis.
  • The jumps in your commission from reaching a certain level of group volume; sometimes called bonuses.

The reality is, there has to be just the right elements in place, for a network marketer, or direct seller, to go from “newly signed” to “large group guru.”

Final Say On Direct Sales Companies – Go after your dreams, but figure out what it takes to get there! If you have doubts about which company to join, take my suggestion and join THE TEAM!

Wishing You The Best,

Greg Jackson

Work From Home Online With Network Marketing

By Greg Jackson on June 30, 2014

When you decide to work from home in the online MLM niche, you open up to greater wealth possibilities. Network marketing is the ultimate way to go.

Of all the work from home methods to achieve financial freedom, I can think of no greater way to do it than through network marketing.

An online based work from home business, inside the network marketing niche, is different from any other work from home business that I can think of.

You are the “work from home” brand!

The first important fact to realize, with very few exceptions, is that you are your business! You are your brand! The network marketing company that you joined is secondary.

This doesn’t mean that you don’t work the business inside of that company. It simply means that you are the constant variable in your business.

The hard reality of network companies is that they come and go. I’ve personally been in companies during the early 90s, that were the trailblazers that produced large organizations. They are no longer around.

Work From Home Is Still Work!

When you begin to blaze the trail with your work from home business, you will have to recruit like you are the only person building your network marketing organization.

You can’t wait for others to build it for you. If your plan is to jump through the ranks of your network marketing company, you have to be the spark that sets it on fire.

The real secret to network marketing success is see the destination of where you’re going, long before you actually reach it. It doesn’t have to take a long time to reach it, if you drive fast.

If you set up your marketing and promotional information with sufficient quantity and quality, you can actually see pretty good results within 60 to 90 days. It’s a small price to pay for time freedom and financial rewards.

Let the system train your downline!

When you bring new recruits in, you have to give them to the marketing system. If you spend too much time holding hands of the people you recruit, they will become dependent on you.

You don’t have to be a cold fish either, but just realize that you will have to drag along with anyone that needs to have their hands held.

Being a leader is about giving the right guidance, and then teaching your recruits on how to pass that guidance downstream.

You can do this business. Get started!

Wishing You The Best,

Greg Jackson

MLM Sponsoring Through The Internet Is Hard And Easy

By Greg Jackson on December 8, 2013

Online MLM Sponsoring is the greatest reason why the Internet was invented. Network marketing already had the greatest pay plan, before dotcoms came along.

On the downside, there is a lot of noise online about how easy it is to grow massive network marketing teams.

Unfortunately, the reality of building a large organization on the Internet takes more work than most network marketers are willing to do.

The Reality of Online MLM Sponsoring

Conceptually, building a large network marketing company on the Internet is the same as building it the old-fashioned traditional way. Building it online comes with two inherent factors: (1) greater reach potential because of technology, and (2) less rejection.

The most interesting thing about these factors is that, it has allowed more network marketers to succeed, and fail. The rate of failure is still about 98% for online and offline marketers.

In total, there are more people in the network marketing industry than ever. A lot more people are succeeding because, for whatever reason, they were turned off by the old traditional ways of doing the business. Overall, the success rate has remained the same.

Earlier, I stated how it takes more work than most online network marketers are willing to do. Actually, what that means is that it takes more work than they expected.

Online MLM Sponsoring does take work, but not as much as the old days of trying to invite everyone you know to get to the business opportunity meeting at the Holiday Inn, or even worse; your own home.

An excellent resource on this topic is Rob Fore’s Online MLM Marketing.

Most Successful Online MLM Sponsoring Model

When Network Marketing on the Internet first became popular, it was due to several pioneers that started the Attraction Marketing model.

Some of it’s earliest proponents were Mike Dillard and Ann Sieg, just to name a couple. The Attraction Marketing concept is pretty simple; grow your customer base by providing value and training.

This model’s monetization strategy consist of affiliate programs, automated marketing systems and the network marketing company itself.

The bottom line is that attraction marketing works, but it takes a little more work than just throwing up some content on a blog, putting a couple of videos on YouTube, posting Facebook ads or sending out a couple of Twitter messages.

If this is what online network marketers are trying to do in their lead generation strategies, than they have a lot more work to do. That’s why the success rate for MLM Sponsoring on the Internet is only 2%.

Wishing You The Best,

Greg Jackson
